PSX gains 26 points to close at 43,928

ISLAMABAD (APP): The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bullish trend on Tuesday, gaining 26.03 points, with a positive change of 0.06 percent, closing at 43,928.08 points against 43,902.05 points on the last working day.
A total of 115,644,646 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 170,486,035 shares the previous day whereas the price of shares stood at Rs4.584 billion against Rs5.497 billion on last trading day.
As many as 302 companies transacted shares in the stock market, 154 of them recorded gain and 125 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 23 companies remained unchanged.
The three top trading companies were Telecard Limited with a volume of 12,908,821 shares and price per share of Rs14.21, TPL Properties with a volume of 6,707,583 and price per share of Rs 18.88 and Engro Polymer with volume of 6,522,763 and price per share of Rs72.64.
Blessed Tex witnessed a maximum increase of Rs34.50 per share, closing at Rs494.51 whereas the runner up was Siemens Pak, the share prices of which climbed up by Rs26.97 to Rs622.
Sapphire Fiber witnessed maximum decrease of Rs62 closing at Rs768 followed by Service Ind. Ltd, the share price of which declined by Rs23.77 to close at Rs423.25.
Rupee sheds Rs 1.12 against dollar
Exchange rate of Pak rupee weakened by Rs 1.12 against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Tuesday and closed at Rs185.23 against the previous day’s closing of Rs184.09.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs183.8 and Rs185.5 respectively.
Similarly, the price of the euro was depreciated by 26 paisas and closed at Rs 203.39 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 203.65.
The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs1.50, whereas an increase of Rs 1.50 was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs243.13 as compared to its last closing of Rs241.63.
The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 32 paisas to close at Rs50.43 and Rs49.37 respectively.
Gold prices increase by Rs800 to Rs132,000
The price of 24 karat per tola gold witnessed an increase of Rs 800 and was sold at Rs 132,000 on Tuesday against its sale at Rs131,200 in the local market the previous day.
The price of 10 gram 24 karat gold also increased by Rs686 to Rs113,169 from Rs112,483 whereas that of 10 gram 22 karat went up to Rs103,738 from Rs103,109, All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.
The price of per tola and ten gram silver remained constant at Rs1520 and Rs1303.15 respectively.
The price of gold in international market increased by $2 and was traded at US$1928 against its sale at US$1926, the association reported.
